TEKLA

TEKLA

Tekla Structures is a building information modeling software able to model structures that incorporate different kinds of building materials, including steel, concrete, timber and glass. [1][2][3][4][5][6] Tekla allows structural drafters and engineers to design a building structure and its components using 3D modeling, generate 2D drawings and access building information.[2][3][5] Tekla Structures was formerly known as Xsteel (X as in X Window System, the foundation of the Unix GUI).

Tekla Structures is used in the construction industry for steel and concrete detailing, precast and cast in-situ. The software enables users to create and manage 3D structural models in concrete or steel, and guides them through the process from concept to fabrication. The process of shop drawing creation is automated. It is available in different configurations and localized environments.
Tekla Structures is known to support large models with multiple simultaneous users, but is regarded as relatively expensive, complex to learn and fully utilize. It competes in the BIM market with AutoCADAutodesk Revit, DProfiler and Digital Project, Lucas Bridge, PERICad and others. Tekla Structures is Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) compliant, among about 40 other competitive systems.
Modeling scopes within Tekla Structures includes Structural Steel, Cast-in-Place (CIP), Concrete, Reinforcing Bar, Miscellaneous Steel and Light Gauge Drywall Framing. The transition of Xsteel to Tekla Structures in 2004 added significant more functionality and interoperability. It is often used in conjunction with Autodesk Revit, where structural framing is designed in Tekla and exported to Revit using the DWG/DXF formats.

SAP 2000

SAP 2000

SAP2000 is general-purpose civil-engineering software ideal for the analysis and design of any type of structural system. ... Created by engineers for effective engineering, SAP2000 is the ideal software tool for users of any experience level, designing any structural system. The SAP name has been synonymous with state-of-the-art analytical methods since its introduction over 30 years ago. SAP2000 follows in the same tradition featuring a very sophisticated, intuitive and versatile user interface powered by an unmatched analysis engine and design tools for engineers working on transportation, industrial, public works, sports, and other facilities.
From its 3D object based graphical modeling environment to the wide variety of analysis and design options completely integrated across one powerful user interface, SAP2000 has proven to be the most integrated, productive and practical general purpose structural program on the market today. This intuitive interface allows you to create structural models rapidly and intuitively without long learning curve delays. Now you can harness the power of SAP2000 for all of your analysis and design tasks, including small day-to-day problems.
Advanced analytical techniques allow for step-by-step large deformation analysis, Eigen and Ritz analyses based on stiffness of nonlinear cases, catenary cable analysis, material nonlinear analysis with fiber hinges, multi-layered nonlinear shell element, buckling analysis, progressive collapse analysis, energy methods for drift control, velocity-dependent dampers, base isolators, support plasticity and nonlinear segmental construction analysis. Nonlinear analyses can be static and/or time history, with options for FNA nonlinear time history dynamic analysis and direct integration.
From a simple small 2D static frame analysis to a large complex 3D nonlinear dynamic analysis,  SAP2000 is the easiest, most productive solution for your structural analysis and design needs.

Complex Models can be generated and meshed with powerful built in templates. Integrated design code features can automatically generate wind, wave, bridge, and seismic loads with comprehensive automatic steel and concrete design code checks per US, Canadian and international design standards.

AutoCAD is a commercialcomputer-aided design (CAD)and drafting software application. Developed and marketed by Autodesk, AutoCAD was first released in December 1982 as a desktop app running on microcomputerswith internal graphics controllers. Before AutoCAD was introduced, most commercial CAD programs ran on mainframe computers or minicomputers, with each CAD operator (user) working at a separate graphics terminal.Since 2010, AutoCAD was released as a mobile- and web app as well, marketed as AutoCAD 360

Revit Architecture:

Autodesk Revit Architecture is a robust architectural design and documentation software application created by Autodesk for architects and building professionals. The tools and features that make up Revit Architecture are specifically designed to support building information modeling (BIM) workflows. By utilizing BIM as opposed to computer-aided drafting (CAD), Revit Architecture is able to leverage dynamic information in intelligent models — allowing complex building structures to be accurately designed and documented in a short amount of time. Each intelligent model created with Revit Architecture represents an entire project and is stored in a single database file. This allows changes made in one part of the model to be automatically propagated to other parts of the model, thus enhancing the workflow for Revit Architecture users.

Benifits :

Individuals who currently work in or are pursuing careers in architectural and other building professional fields will discover many benefits of using Revit Architecture. The BIM workflow offered by Revit Architecture not only maximizes productivity but also helps to streamline your design and documentation workflows; speeding projects from design to completion while automating updates across your model with a single design change. Autodesk Revit Architecture offers many other tools and features that can enhance productivity such as Physical Materials for Building Performance Analysis, Autodesk 360 Integration, Worksharing, Construction Modeling, Bidirectional Associativity, Parametric Components, and much more.

FEAST

FEAST

FEASTSMT   (Finite Element Analysis of Structures) is ISRO's structural analysis software based on Finite Element Method (FEM) realized by Structural Engineering Entity of Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC).  The software is developed in C++ Programming Language based on Object Oriented (OO) principles.  Substructured and Multi-Threaded (SMT) implementation of the solver ensures high performance of the software to the end users.
PreWin is the Graphical User Interface (GUI) based pre & post Processor of FEASTSMT.  It is developed using OpenGL technology for the 3-D visualization of Finite Element models. The software is integrated as a single application with PreWin,  supporting the pre and post processing capability and the SMT solver, linked as a dynamic library (DLL)  providing the solution.

Analysis Capabilities:

The current version of FEASTSMT 2014 R2 includes linear analysis capabilities.  This is packaged in a modular form  for academic and commercial usage by combining the basic and supplementary module.
